Hawks Baseball Splits Home Opener With Vikings

The MVCC Baseball team opened their 2015 home schedule by splitting a doubleheader with Hudson Valley.
MVCC dropped Game 1 to Hudson Valley 18-1. The Vikings broke a 1-1 tie by scoring 17 unanswered runs.  The Hawks committed 8 errors and were only able to manage 1 hit against HVCC southpaw Ryan Smith.

MVCC roared back in game two with a hard fought 7-0 victory.  Jeff Cooke threw a complete game shutout allowing only 3 hits on 68 pitches.  John Ross went 2-3 and Matt Thompson had two RBI's in the win.

MVCC travels to Fulton-Montgomery Tuesday before their next home on Thursday against the Fulton Montgomery CC Raiders.
