Hawks Baseball Rallies To Sweep Fulton Montgomery

It was a perfect Spring day for baseball at historic Murnane Field in Utica as the MVCC Hawks hosted the Fulton Montgomery Raiders.

In Game 1, the Hawks jumped out to an early 3-0 lead before FM tied it up in the second and took a 7-3 lead by the middle of the third.  The Hawks were able to close it to 7-5 after Mitch Cunningham blasted a 2 run triple in the bottom of the third.

Ryan Fahy put MV back on top 8-7 in the bottom of the 4th with a bases clearing triple. The Hawks added two more runs to secure the final of 10-7.

Steve Scialdo gets the win in relief of Jared Muraca and Jeff Cooke picked up the save for the Hawks. Mitch Cunningham led the offensive attack with 3 hits including a triple. JT Ross, Justin Kiesow and Matt Thompson all had two hits for the Hawks.



Game 2: MVCC 4 FMCC 2


Adam Gleason picks up the win on the hill and Jeff Cooke earns his second save of the day. MVCC broke open a 2-2 tie in the 5th inning on a sac fly by Ryan Fahy and a two out RBI single from Matt Thompson.


The Hawks return to action Saturday when they host Columbia-Greene at 1pm and 3pm.
