Hawks Earn Post Season Honors

On the heels of posting a phenomenal season with a 14-3-1 record, the Mohawk Valley Community College men's soccer team received several post-season honors this weekend.

Being named to the NJCAA Region III All-First Team was freshman Mohamed Kuwa for the center fielder position. On the season, this Utica resident has three goals and assisted on four others for the Hawks.

Adding to these honors were three players being named to the Region III All-Second Team. Heading up the list was Mohamed Haji with seven goals and 10 assists. While the Hawks scored 31 goals this season, they only allowed five to be scored on them.

Joining him was defender Adis Redzic and center fielder Mark Hennings. Hennings has nine goals and five assists on the year.

The Hawks' season wrapped up last week with a double overtime shootout loss to Jamestown Community College.
