Hudson Valley Community College knocked off Mohawk Valley Community College 4-2 in a pivotal regional game.
Hudson Valley got off to a quick start and found themselves on top of the Hawks 3-0 within the first 20 minutes of the game. Noah Dixon was able to find the back of the net just before half to put the Hawks on the board. The Hawks continued to gain momentum in the second half but weren't able to get by Viking's goalkeeper Ben Peay. The Vikings stuck again off a deflection on a free kick to put them up 4-1. Noah Dixon was able to find his second goal of the game with 10 minutes to go in the 2nd half. The Hawks continued to push but weren't able to find the back of the net. Carson Nedell and Caden Blazek combined for 3 saves while Hudson Valley keeper Ben Peay recorded 4 saves.
The Hawks drop to 3-5 on the season as the Vikings improve to 5-1. MVCC returns to action on Saturday at 4:00pm vs Clinton Community College.
