MVCC Track & Field Places 6th at NJCAA Nationals

The MVCC Men's Track and Field team placed 6th overall at the 2016 NJCAA National Track & Field Championships held in Holyoke, Massachusetts. 

Michael Warchol was crowned National Champion in the Men's 800m race by beating Max Hamilton (FIT) by .28 in the finals.  Warchol finished with a time of 1:59.84 with Hamilton a close second at 2:00.12. 

Dalton Gorinshek and Ryan Lockwood scored valuable points for the Hawks in throwing events. Gorinshek finished 2nd nationally in the Hammer throw with a toss of 44.70 (146'08") and Ryan Lockwood placed 4th with a hurl of 42.38 (139'00).   Lockwood finished 4th in the Discus at 37.93m (124'05") and Gorinshek was 5th at 37.29 (122'04").

Ony Echefu earned All American honors by finishing 3rd in Pole Vault (3.83m) (12-06.75). 

Alec Ambruso crossed the 10,000m finish line in 36:15.99 which placed him third in the country. Ambruso finished 4th in the 5000m run with a time of 17:03.32. 

Tanner Trzepacz leaped to eighth place in the triple jump (12.35m). Joseph Topa completed the 1500 meter run in 4:17.79 for seventh place.  Bryan VanHall took fifth in the 3000m Steeplechase. 

The Hawks 4x800m relay team earned points with a sixth place finish (8:36.77).
