Lady Hawks Come Up Short in Extra Innings
The MVCC Lady Hawks lost the first game of their doubleheader to Hudson Valley 6-3 in 8 innings on a beautiful Thursday afternoon in Utica.

Hudson Valley plated the first two runs of the game in the top of the first inning before West Canada Valley grad Sydney McEvoy hit a three run home run to put the Hawks ahead 3 to 2. 
Hawks pitcher Emma Hodges and HVCC's pitcher [Whitesboro grad] Ashley Robinson were then in a pitcher's duel, getting out of multiple innings with runners in scoring position.
MVCC had a 3 to 2 lead going into the top of the six when HVCC tied up the contest on a solo home run by Jayda Bryant-Bonarrigo.
After a scoreless 7th inning the game continued with the tie-breaker rule in the 8th inning. Hudson Valley scored three runs enroute to the win.
Cortlynn JespenCeline LaracuenteCourteney Fiorenza and Sydney McEvoy all went 2-4 at the plate for MVCC.
