Lady Hawks Softball Earns Split with Hudson Valley CC 8-5

The MVCC Lady Hawks defeated Hudson Valley CC 8-5 in game two of a doubleheader in Utica. 

Carissa Tasovac hit her second home of the season, putting the Hawks ahead 5 to 4 in the top of the 6th. Solvay's Jordyn Everett's double scored Sydney McEvoy as MV led 6-4.

In the seventh inning the Hawks scored two insurance runs as former Adirondack High School teammates Aliza Mathis and Sarah Dohrn both had RBI singles giving the Hawks an 8-4 lead.

HVCC scored a run in the bottom of the 7th inning but their rally was cut short as MVCC's Jordyn Everett picked up her 2nd win of the season. 

The Hawks banged out 19 hits and played error free softball in the win. 

Courteney FiorenzaAliza Mathis and Carissa Tasovac each went 3-5. Mathis hit a double and a triple in the win.
