Hawks Defeat Rival Generals To Get Back On Winning Track

A great local rivalry continued as the MVCC Lady Hawks defeated the Herkimer Generals 14-7 at Wehrum Stadium in Herkimer.

Holly Hash and Allison Auger opened the scoring for MV by netting two goals less than 90 seconds apart. MVCC Athlete of the Week Nicole Jones, Mackenzie Smith, Hash and Auger  added additional first half goals as MVCC went to the locker room up 6-3.

Malorey Muzzy quickly put MV on the scoreboard to open the second half and the Hawks added three more goals to take a 10-3 lead with 20 minutes to play. Both teams traded goals before Auger and Jones put the game out of reach leading MVCC to victory.

Allison Auger finished with 5 goals and Holly Hash 4 more for MVCC. Mackenzie Baciuska had 10 saves in net.

MVCC is now 3-3 on the season and hosts Broome Community College at D'Alesandro Stadium on Monday. Faceoff is 6pm.
