Hawks find tough road trip to Monroe

It was a long day for the MVCC women's volleyball team as the Hawks flew home with a loss to host Monroe Community College in a Region III POD.

The Hawks went up against Monroe in the first round only to fall 3-0 by the scores of 25-15, 25-7, 25-7.

Leading the Hawk netters was Logann Dolan with seven digs and one save while Anthonae Sheard made five digs and two kills. Dina Kapic also had two kills to go with her four digs. From the serving line, Ariel Ortlieb scored four aces.

The Hawks faced Finger Lakes Community College in the second round of the POD.

Against the Lakers, MVCC's aggressive performance pulled the Hawks within sight of victory. But the Hawks fell short in each game to fall 3-0 by scores of 25-17, 25-11, 25-12.

Susana Brutsky delivered five aces while Ortlieb tallied four of her own. She also had three digs. Sheard was a killer at the net with four kills to go with her six digs and two blocks for eight points. Dolan was a top defender with eight digs.
