Boucher opens 2014 season where she left off in 2013

the start of the 2014 women's cross country season on Saturday at the Eighth Annual SUNY IT Short Course Invitational, MVCC's Stephanie Boucher is on pace to become another national champion for the Hawks.

This sophomore finished in a time of 21 minutes, 43 seconds, which earned her 13th place in a field that consisted mainly of four-year college runners. Boucher was a standout for the Hawks in her freshman season and this year appears to be her rising to the next level.

The Hawks finished in seventh place with 198 points while powerhouse SUNY Oswego won the event with 43 points.

The Hawks have a strong freshman class of runners as four of them scored for the Hawks. Anna Roberts finished 43rd in 23:11 followed by Kim Wrate in 51st in 23:39. On her heels was Rebecca LaPorte in 57th in 24:06 and Marissa Braun brought up the rear in 76th in 25:13.
