Hawks Battle in Five-Set Thriller at SUNY Broome

Binghamton, NY – The Mohawk Valley Community College Women's Volleyball team put forth a gritty performance on Saturday, September 13, taking SUNY Broome to five sets in a tightly contested match before ultimately falling, 3-2.

The Hawks dropped the first two sets (25-20, 25-10) but showed remarkable resilience, rallying to take the next two (27-25, 25-23) and force a decisive fifth set. Despite the momentum shift, MVCC came up short in the final frame, 15-8, as Broome secured the hard-fought win.

Head Coach Courtney Piazza praised her team's effort and progress:

"The girls continue to improve each week. Today was a tough battle against Broome. We will get back at it this week and prepare for our first conference match of the year on Tuesday against SUNY Adirondack."

The Hawks continue to show strong development early in the season and are eager to carry their competitive edge into conference play. The Hawks return to action on Tuesday, September 16, when they host SUNY Adirondack in their first conference match of the season
