The #4-ranked MVCC Men's Soccer team bounced back in impressive fashion Sunday morning, earning a 1-0 shutout victory over the Onondaga Community College Lazers.

Francesco Tagliavini delivered the game's only goal midway through the first half, finishing a well-placed pass from Mario Camacho to put the Hawks in front. From there, MVCC was able to create multiple chances throughout the game but were unable to pad their lead.

Goalkeeper Anderson Filho made four saves to preserve the win.

"We had a quick turnaround from last night and got the result we needed today," said head coach Dom DiMaggio. "We played a great team last night in Monroe University and turned around 12 hours later and beat a team that always plays us tough."

The win comes as part of a grueling stretch for the Hawks, who now prepare to face NJCAA Division I Monroe Community College on Tuesday, September 16 in Rochester at 4:00 PM. The busy week wraps up at home on Wednesday, September 17, when MVCC hosts North Country Community College at 4:00 PM, concluding a demanding slate of four games in five days.
