Men's Track & Field Records Multiple Top Finishes at St. Lawrence Open
CANTON, NY — The Mohawk Valley Community College men's track & field team turned in a strong performance at the St. Lawrence Open on February 20 at Newell Field House, highlighted by several Top 5 finishes against a competitive slate of regional opponents.
Freshman thrower Mason Beattie led the way with a second-place finish in the men's shot put, recording a mark of 12.39 meters (40-7¾). He also added a seventh-place finish in the men's weight throw at 13.05 meters (42-9¾).
In the field events, Jullian Jalowiec earned a fifth-place finish in the men's triple jump with a mark of 12.28 meters (40-3½), while Andrew Stanley matched that placement in the men's pole vault, clearing 3.70 meters (12-1½). Benjamin Nelson added depth in the throws with a sixth-place finish in the men's shot put at 11.50 meters (37-8¾).
The Hawks will move into their outdoor portion of the season when they head to Utica University on March 21st for their next meet.
