BATAVIA, N.Y. — The Hawks took on Genesee Community College in the NJCAA Region III Semi-finals which resulted in the 2026 campaign coming to an end.
Genesee jumped out to an early advantage and never looked back, taking a 47–25 lead into halftime. The Cougars continued their strong offensive performance in the second half, matching Mohawk Valley with 49 points while maintaining their comfortable lead..
Mohawk Valley found more offensive rhythm in the second half after struggling early, but the first-half deficit proved too much to overcome.
Darnell Childs led Mohawk Valley with 24 points on 10-of-18 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds. Kevion Cummings added 15 points and six rebounds, while Jaeshaun Felder finished with 14 points and seven boards.
The Hawks finish with an overall record of 16-9 while holding a 16-6 record against NJCAA Division III teams. The Hawks were ranked in the top 15 for all but the final week of the year.
