MVCC Softball Competes Strongly Against Division II Opponents
The Hawks opened up compeititon in Myrtle Beach against Division II opponents, Madison College and Lackawanna College. MVCC showed strong effort and competitiveness in both contests.
Game 1 Summary
Madison College 5, MVCC 4
MVCC lost a close game to Madison College by a score of 5–4.
Madison College scored five runs in the first inning. MVCC responded by scoring one run in the third inning, one run in the fifth inning, one run in the sixth inning, and one run in the seventh inning. The team nearly completed a full comeback.
Paige Morrone led MVCC offensively with two hits in three at-bats and scored two runs. The team showed effective base running, including stolen bases by Alyssa Peart, Kendra Genge, Sarina Fields, and Paige Morrone.
Runs batted in were recorded by Isabella Kleban, Leandra Plows, and Rori Hanks. MVCC also demonstrated patience at the plate with five walks.
Kaylee Beam pitched all seven innings for MVCC. She allowed six hits and kept the team within reach after the first inning.

Lackawanna College 11, MVCC 9
MVCC lost a high-scoring game to Lackawanna College by a score of 11–9.
MVCC scored three runs in the first inning and added four runs in the fifth inning. The team scored a total of nine runs despite recording five hits, supported by 11 walks.
Leandra Plows had a strong performance with two hits, including a triple, and reached base four times. Kendra Genge added two hits, and Emma Kraszewski contributed one hit and scored one run.
MVCC showed strong plate discipline throughout the game, consistently drawing walks and creating scoring opportunities.
Rori Hanks pitched four innings in relief and allowed three runs, none of which were earned. Her performance helped keep the game close.
MVCC scored two runs in the final inning and brought the tying run to the plate before the game ended.
