It was the Panthers that came away with a 20-5 vitcory on Wednesday evening against the Hawks. After one quarter of play, MVCC trailed by just a goal, 3-2. However, Tompkins Cortland began to pull away in the second quarter, building a 9-2 lead by halftime.
Despite continued effort from MVCC, the Panthers maintained their momentum in the second half, extending the lead to 15-4 after three quarters before closing out the game at 20-5.
Goalkeeper Anthony Badolato turned in a gritty performance in net, making numerous key saves throughout the contest while facing heavy pressure from the Panthers' offense.
Offensively, MVCC was led by Carson Collins and Kyle Erway, who each recorded two goals and one assist on the night. Christian Cotrupe added the Hawks' fifth goal, while Harrison Cole contributed with an assist.
The Hawks return to action when they travel to Batavia, NY to take on Genesee Community College Cougars on Friday April 3rd.
