MVCC Hawks Drop Doubleheader Against Corning Community College

The MVCC Hawks dropped game one to Corning Community College, 19–2. A difficult fourth inning proved decisive, as the Hawks allowed eight runs—only a few earned—following two home runs and several defensive errors. Outside of that inning, MVCC competed more evenly and showed positive moments on both offense and defense.

Offensively, Alyssa Peart, Kendra Genge, Emma Kraszewski, and Scout Ludwig each recorded a hit, with Kraszewski driving in a run.

In game two, the Hawks responded with a stronger performance, demonstrating resilience and forcing the game into extra innings.

MVCC battled throughout but fell by one run in a closely contested matchup. The Hawks led much of the way offensively, out-hitting Corning 15–10 in the game.

Isabella Kleban and Madysen Saddlemire led the offense with three hits each. Scout Ludwig hit a two-run home run to give MVCC a late lead, and Kaylee Beam added an RBI single during a key sixth-inning rally. The Hawks tied the game in the seventh inning with timely hits from Kleban and Saddlemire to extend play into extras.

In the circle, Alyssa Peart pitched a complete game, recording six strikeouts while working through challenging situations. Defensively, MVCC played a clean game without committing an error.
