Hawks Drop Two to Monroe in Home Doubleheader

Utica, NY — The Mohawk Valley Community College Hawks softball team fell to Monroe Community College in both games of a doubleheader on April 11 at Accelerate Sports, losing 9–6 and 8–3.

Game One

Mohawk Valley recorded six hits and six runs while drawing 14 walks.

Isabella Kleban led the offense, going 2-for-2 with two walks, one RBI, and one run scored. Kaylee Beam finished 1-for-2 with three walks and one RBI.

Leandra Plows added a hit and an RBI, while Paige Morrone and Madysen Saddlemire each recorded one hit. Scout Ludwig reached base twice via walks and scored one run.

The Hawks also received runs from Emma Kraszewski, Sarina Fields, and Kendra Genge.

In the circle, Alyssa Peart pitched 5.1 innings, allowing five runs (four earned) with seven strikeouts. Rori Hanks and Emma Kraszewski combined for the remaining innings.

Game Two

Mohawk Valley finished with five hits and three runs.

Paige Morrone led the offense, going 2-for-3 with a home run and two runs scored. Alyssa Peart recorded a hit and an RBI, while Leandra Plows added an RBI.

Scout Ludwig and Emma Kraszewski each contributed a hit, and Rori Hanks scored a run after reaching base on a walk.

In the circle, Kaylee Beam started and pitched 3.2 innings, allowing six runs. Kraszewski added 2.1 innings in relief.

Next Games

The Hawks will return to action on Sunday, April 12, when they host Finger Lakes Community College for a doubleheader at Accelerate Sports, with games scheduled for 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
