Hawks Drop Four-Game Series to Hudson Valley
Utica, NY — The Mohawk Valley Community College Hawks baseball team dropped four games to Hudson Valley Community College over the weekend in a pair of doubleheaders at Donovan Stadium and Bruno Field.
Game One
Hudson Valley scored eight runs in the first inning and maintained the lead.
Mathew McNicoll led the Hawks with a double and two RBIs. Ryan Leos added two hits and a run scored, while Lucas Tucker also recorded a hit and scored.
The Hawks finished with five hits and two walks while striking out seven times.
Game Two
Mohawk Valley scored nine runs on five hits and drew nine walks.
Mathew McNicoll went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a walk. Marco Sparace added a double and two RBIs.
Ryan Leos scored two runs and recorded a hit, while Franklyn Gutierrez reached base twice via walks and scored once. The Hawks also received runs from Ryan Spagnola, Antonio DeMarco, Bradee Boughner, and Karter Beller.
Game Three
Ryan Leos recorded a hit for MVCC. Mohawk Valley drew two walks and struck out 15 times.
On the mound, Cooper Joslin pitched five innings, allowing seven runs (six earned). Ricky Burch added one scoreless inning in relief.
Game Four
Ryan Leos and Rhyan Sencion each recorded a hit. The Hawks drew one walk and struck out nine times.
Series Notes
Across the four games, Mathew McNicoll totaled four hits and four RBIs. Ryan Leos recorded multiple hits in the series and scored three runs.
