Mohawk Valley Community College dropped both games of a doubleheader against Jefferson Community College on April 19, 2026, falling 10–0 in Game 1 and 8–2 in Game 2.

In the opener, Ryan Leos, Mathew McNicoll, Graydon Hickey, and Alexander Kaun each recorded a hit, but the Hawks were unable to string together offense against Jefferson starter Nathan Eccleston, who threw a complete-game shutout.

Jefferson broke the game open in the second inning with six runs and added three more in the third to take control early. A home run by Nick Spivey highlighted the surge, while Braiden Bley contributed three hits and two RBIs. Mohawk Valley's pitching staff allowed 10 runs on nine hits and six walks over 4.2 innings.

Game two showed improvement for Mohawk Valley, particularly on the defensive side, as the Hawks limited Jefferson to just five hits.

Jefferson capitalized early once again, scoring two runs in the first and adding five more in the third inning. Mohawk Valley responded in the fourth inning with its only runs of the game. Alexander Kaun delivered a two-run double to drive in CJ Kerslake and Genero Clemente.

Kaun finished with two RBIs, while six different Hawks recorded hits in the game. On the mound, Lucas Tucker struck out four over three innings, allowing just two hits, but defensive miscues led to seven runs, only one of which was earned. Karter Beller provided steady relief, allowing one run over three innings.

Jefferson added a final run in the fourth and maintained control the rest of the way behind a complete-game effort from Kyle Peterson.

The Hawks return to action when they host Jefferson at home for a double header to close on the series on Thursday, April 23rd at Murnane Field at 2:00 & 4:00PM.
