Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) baseball dropped both games of a doubleheader to Jefferson Community College on April 23 at Murnane Field, falling 5–4 in Game 1 and 13–2 in Game 2.
In the opening game, MVCC took an early lead with three runs in the first inning but was unable to hold off Jefferson's consistent offense. Ryan Leos led the Hawks at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a run scored and a walk. Mathew McNicoll added two hits and an RBI, while Franklyn Gutierrez recorded a hit and drove in a run. Lucas Tucker also contributed an RBI.
Leos started on the mound and pitched a complete game, allowing five runs on 13 hits while striking out four. Jefferson was paced by Yuliano Lopez, who scored twice and drove in a run, along with Nick Spivey and Braiden Bley, who each had multiple hits and RBIs.
In Game 2, Jefferson pulled away early in a 13–2 win. MVCC recorded six hits in the contest, led by Genero Clemente, who went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Antonio DeMarco added a hit and scored a run, while Franklyn Gutierrez and Jose Rodriguez each contributed a hit. Alexander Kaun drove in a run for the Hawks.
MVCC used multiple pitchers in Game 2, with Karter Beller starting and going three innings. Mason Russo, Ricky Burch, Christophel Mendez, Graydon Hickey, and Cohen Cosimeno also saw time on the mound.
The Hawks return to action when they play Herkimer College in a 4 game series on April 26th & 27th.
