Hawks Fall to Generals

Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) baseball dropped a four-game series to Herkimer College on April 26–27.

In the opening game, MVCC was limited to two hits in a 4–2 loss. Mathew McNicoll provided the offensive highlight with a solo home run, accounting for one of the Hawks' two runs. He also added a hit in the game. Antonio DeMarco recorded MVCC's other hit, while CJ Kerslake scored one of the team's runs. Lucas Tucker started on the mound and pitched 6.2 innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on eight hits while striking out three.

In Game 2, MVCC fell 12–2 as Herkimer used a strong offensive performance to pull away early. Bradee Boughner and McNicoll each drove in a run for the Hawks, while Marco Sparace and Graydon Hickey each scored. McNicoll added a double as part of MVCC's five-hit effort. Cooper Joslin started on the mound, with Ricky Burch and Lucas Komnick also seeing time in relief.

On April 27, the Hawks dropped the third game 11–1. McNicoll continued his strong series at the plate, going 2-for-3 and scoring MVCC's lone run. Franklyn Gutierrez drove in the run, while Genero Clemente and Marco Sparace each contributed hits. Antonio DeMarco started on the mound and took the loss, with Mason Russo appearing in relief.

In the series finale, MVCC was held to two hits in a 17–0 loss. McNicoll and Antonio DeMarco each recorded a hit for the Hawks. CJ Kerslake reached base twice via walks. Graydon Hickey started on the mound, with Karter Beller and Bradee Boughner also pitching in the game.

Across the four-game series, McNicoll led MVCC offensively with multiple hits and RBIs, including a home run in Game 1. 

The Hawks will close out the regular season next weekend when they host Fulton-Montgomery Community College for a four-game series.
