Hawks Drop Region III Semi-Final Doubleheader to Jefferson, Close Out 2026 Campaign

Mohawk Valley Community College wrapped up its 2026 softball season on May 5th at Accelerate Sports, falling in both ends of a doubleheader against Jefferson Community College to close the year.

In game one, Jefferson edged MVCC 4–3 in a tightly played contest. The Hawks were paced offensively by Kaylee Beam, who drove in a run while helping anchor the lineup, and Madysen Saddlemire and Emma Kraszewski each added RBI support. Alyssa Peart delivered a strong complete-game effort in the circle, striking out 13 while keeping MVCC within reach throughout, but Jefferson was able to hold on late.

The nightcap saw Jefferson pull away for a 6–2 victory to complete the sweep. Mohawk Valley was led offensively by Kaylee Beam, who homered and drove in both Hawk runs, while Emma Kraszewski added an RBI of her own. Despite a solid complete-game effort from Beam in the circle, Jefferson capitalized on early scoring opportunities and maintained control for the remainder of the game.

With the doubleheader sweep, MVCC closes the 2026 season with hard-fought performances on both sides of the ball, highlighted by strong individual pitching outings and moments of offensive production throughout the lineup. The Hawks now turn their attention to offseason development as they begin building toward the 2027 campaign.
