Courtney Piazza was born and raised in Utica, NY, and has over 15 years of softball playing experience. During high school, she competed in travel softball each summer while playing for Thomas R. Proctor High School, where she helped lead the team to its second-ever Section III Championship appearance in 2015.
After graduating from Proctor, Courtney continued her education and softball career at Onondaga Community College, contributing to the team’s NJCAA Region III Championship and earning a berth at the national tournament in 2017. She then went on to play at Mohawk Valley Community College.
After her time at MVCC, Courtney went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Austin Peay State University in 2021. She returned to MVCC as the assistant softball coach, where she has been dedicated to developing student-athletes both on and off the field. In addition to her coaching role, Courtney provides private softball instruction specializing in hitting, fielding, and catching. She also serves as the head coach of the Upstate Empire 16U travel softball team based in Syracuse, NY, where she continues to mentor and advance young athletes in the game.
